The award-winning School of Arts & Creative Industries (SACI) at Edinburgh Napier University plays an active part in the creative industries in Scotland.

We offer a BA Music programme, an MA Music programme, and have a vibrant culture of research students from MRes to PhD.
As part of our ongoing initiative to unlock innovation and growth while nurturing talent, we are currently recruiting a full time Lecturer in Music to act as a key contributor to the academic team in the delivery of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
The Role:
The position of Lecturer in Music will give you the opportunity to become part of a team of academics and practitioners with diverse interests and experience, working with colleagues in contributing to our vibrant and progressive teaching and learning culture, and to scholarship/practice within the department.
You will be in an excellent position to use your experience of teaching the contextual study of music to become a key contributor to the academic team in the delivery of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
You will have the opportunity to supervise and guide postgraduate students (MRes, MPhil, and PhD) with their research in historical, sociological, psychological and ethnomusicological subject areas, capitalising on your own specialisms in these areas.
Furthermore, you will have the remit to use your own track record of scholarship, as well as your experience in providing and developing teaching and learning in Music in the higher education context, to enable graduates to develop sustainable careers in tomorrow’s creative and connected communities.
