An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the School of Computer Science and Informatics. You will be joining Cardiff University, one of the UK’s leading research led universities, as a Research Associate (Data Engineer) for the TweetNLP Project, which is funded by EPSRC.
The selected candidate will work on the TweetNLP project (tweetnlp.org), which is a recently launched platform focused on NLP and its application on social media. The selected candidate will help develop its vision and extend its reach. Depending on expertise, the selected candidate will help develop one or more of the following: new NLP models and integrate them into the platform, maintenance of the website and/or the platform through quality benchmarking/evaluation, establishing and maintaining our collaborations with industry, and involvement in multi-disciplinary project involving NLP and social media.
The selected candidate will have prior experience in NLP and, ideally, interested in multi-disciplinary collaborations and partnerships with industry. The selected candidate will join the Cardiff NLP group, a growing and dynamic group working on all aspects of natural language processing.

This position is full-time (35 hours per week) for eight months, and immediately available from 1 June 2023 (or soon afterwards).
Salary: £36,333 - £43,155 per annum (Grade 6)
