At University College Dublin (UCD) and the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering we have an open PhD position on the development of dynamic equivalents and robust controls for data-rich and highly uncertain active distribution networks.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will join a structured research programme at UCD, one of Europe's leading research-intensive universities. Successful completion of the programme will lead to a PhD degree over a period of 9-12 academic trimesters (3-4 years). The core objective is making a substantial and original contribution in the field, and publishing in top peer-reviewed energy journals, such as the IEEE Transactions on Power Systems and IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid.
The scholarship is fully funded, covering school tuition fees and a take-home stipend. The position is available immediately and will remain open until filled by an excellent candidate. Interested students may also have access to the research we have been doing recently here.
To apply, please send your CV, a short cover letter explaining your interest in the position, as well as 1-2 recommendation letters, to georgios.tzounas@ucd.ie. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview.
