The Department of Social & Political Sciences at Brunel University London is a thriving interdisciplinary Department, which features research and teaching in Politics, International Relations, History, Sociology, Communications and Media Studies, Journalism, Anthropology and Criminology. We are now planning to launch a BSc in Geography and a joint degree in Human Geography and Anthropology. The Department has superb research across all disciplines, together with excellent NSS results.

We are seeking to recruit a Lecturer on a permanent basis to broaden our research and teaching in the Geographies of Political Ecology and Environmental Justice. You will be expected to contribute teaching initially on broad-based first year human and environmental geography modules, but subsequently in more specialist second and third year modules, and potentially on other relevant programmes.

The appointee will join a well-established research and teaching department with an outstanding track record of success. You will be expected to contribute teaching across our programmes, particularly in Geography and potentially in other relevant areas. You will also be expected to participate in at least one of the research centres and/or hubs in the College of Business, Arts & Social Sciences, or a University Research Institute.

We encourage applications from candidates from diverse backgrounds, particularly those that are currently underrepresented in the Department, College and University.

Informal enquiries about the posts and the Department can be made to the Head of Department, Dr Peter D. Thomas (peter.thomas2@brunel.ac.uk).

Closing date for applications: Sunday, 11 June 2023 (Midnight).

Interviews will take place on week commencing of 19 June 2023 virtually/in person.
