ABOUT THE ROLE 

Working as part of multi-disciplinary teams, you will assist the Head of Department to maintain, enhance and improve the Department and Faculties national and international reputation in your academic field.     

Demonstrating your continued academic attainment and achievement, you will provide academic leadership through contribution to your discipline and the life and work of the faculty.  

ABOUT YOU 

Northumbria University is seeking to appoint a permanent Professor (grade 9) or Associate Professor (grade 8) in English to join the Department of Humanities and lead the MA Publishing in partnership with Hachette UK and New Writing North. They will be a key part of a unique Publishing MA that equips students for careers in the industry through a teaching model built around contemporary publishing practices and business structures. The post will be integral to the development of the new Centre for Writing, a pioneering new space for arts and the creative industries to be based in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne. Expertise in Creative Writing and/or Publishing and a strong research portfolio are essential, with recent industry experience a significant requirement.
