STICERD

Hayek Programme Postdoctoral Fellow

Salary from £39,313 to £47,148 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £50,614 pa inclusive of London allowance

This is a fixed term appointment for up to 2 years

The LSE Hayek Programme is inviting proposals from early career researchers wishing to pursue an independent research project whose themes align with those of Hayek's work such as the use of knowledge in society, the role of the state, political and economic freedom, macro-economics, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

The post could be for either one or two years and we will consider applications from those who are already in teaching posts but wish to use the opportunity to spend time at LSE. The objective of the postdoctoral position is to complete a significant piece of publishable research and contribute towards building the Hayek Programme. The successful candidate will be working as part of a community of world-leading researchers and will be based at the Suntory and Toyota International Centres for Economics and Related Disciplines (STICERD) at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Candidates should have:

  • Recently completed a PhD or be close to obtaining a PhD in a relevant discipline by the post start date.
  • Research interests relevant to the themes of Hayek’s work.
  • A track record or trajectory of internationally excellent publications
  • Proven ability, as evidenced by existing publications, or potential to publish in top journals in the relevant social science fields.
  • A clear, well developed and viable strategy for future outstanding research that has the potential to result in world-leading publications.
  • The ability to demonstrate awareness and address any ethical issues that may be raised by the proposed programme of work.

We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave, hybrid working, and excellent training and development opportunities.
