The Department of Politics, Philosophy and Religion at Lancaster University is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Philosophy, with research expertise in Political Philosophy. This is a full time, indefinite post, to start 4th Sepember 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.

You will have an excellent profile in research and teaching appropriate to your career stage. You will also have expertise in political philosophy, construed broadly and so as to include work in any area of philosophy which is of political relevance.  We are a pluralistic group of philosophers, working in Eastern as well as Western traditions.  We therefore encourage applications from all philosophical backgrounds, as well as those whose work foregrounds critical/decolonial perspectives.

You will have experience of teaching undergraduates and/or postgraduates, and the ability to attract students and provide high quality, research-led teaching in Philosophy.

You will have completed your PhD (or be very near to completion), will have a record of excellence in published research appropriate to your career stage, and will have concrete plans for future internationally excellent research publications, research funding and/or projects. You will have the ability to contribute to the research culture in the Department of Politics, Philosophy and Religion. Your research and teaching development will be supported by a mentoring system within the Department and a range of departmental and faculty level teaching and research development activities.
