Learning & Teaching Technologist

London College of Contemporary Arts – Academic

Who we are:

London College of Contemporary Arts (LCCA) is a dedicated institution specialising in business, creativity, contemporary art, experiential and real-world learning with a broad network of industry connections, aided by our association with University College of Arts (UCA), Christian Louboutin, Calvin Klein Jeans and The Photographer’s Gallery. With LCCA’s pedagogic approach to experiential blended learning, we empower our students to get a real feel for working within the business world or creative industries, by shaping a career in the sector.

The Role:

At LCCA, we are on the cusp of a significant period of growth and pride ourselves on the use of technology and experiential blended learning. This is an exclusive role, wherein the postholder will ensure that all staff are equipped with the necessary skills to design, create and deliver engaging teaching materials – all with the aim to support student success, which is a pivotal element of learning and teaching at LCCA. We are looking to appoint an exceptional Learning and Teaching Technologist, who will be able to respond to the developments within the Higher Education (HE) landscape, to support the implementation of our innovative blended learning pedagogy.

As a senior leader who believes in collective leadership, the postholder will be capable of comprehending and assisting the entire department's needs, be part of the Senior Management Team (SMT), and work alongside others to establish LCCAs strategic direction, demonstrating inclusive and cooperative work practices that are crucial to our accomplishments

LCCA courses are unique in that they may be taught across the week (in the day); in two evenings in the week and at the weekend and follow a blended learning approach.  Candidates may have to work across evenings and weekends, as determined and discussed at your interview matched against your preference, the workload and resource allocation and needs of the business.

The ideal candidate:

Blended learning, which combines traditional classroom teaching with online and digital resources, is a key focus for this role. The ideal candidate will assist academic colleagues in integrating engaging digital and experiential learning materials into their teaching to align with LCCA’s blended approach and will have a demonstratable record of digital innovation within the HE environment.

The role holder must possess extensive knowledge of various digital tools and technologies, research capabilities to find suitable content, proficiency in gathering and organizing online learning resources, and the ability to communicate technical information effectively to all staff, regardless of their technical abilities. The role holder will lead on various projects aimed at enhancing our teaching practices to improve student learning experiences and outcomes. With their extensive and diverse experience in teaching and learning technologies (particularly blended learning), the successful candidate will serve as a primary resource for academic colleagues, to provide guidance on the effective use of digital technologies and experiential learning across levels 3-7 of our LCCA courses. The role holder will be expected to engage in research and or professional practice to increase their management and HE pedagogic awareness.
