Organisation context
BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in the UK and Ireland and includes an extensive and growing CBT community. Established 50 years ago as an interest group for people involved in the practice and theory of behaviour therapy, we are now a professional organisation and have grown to a membership of more than 19,000 members, with over half now on our CBT Register.
We are recruiting a Course Accreditation Manager to join the Course Accreditation Team. This represents a unique opportunity to play a central role in setting the professional standards for training in CBT across the UK and Ireland. We have awarded accreditation to over 60 university courses. Our respected BABCP course accreditation quality mark demonstrates these courses have met standards based on good practice and thus contributes to the protection of the public and the reputation of the profession.
There is a growing demand for accreditation of courses and of individuals working in CBT which is leading to rapid expansion of our accreditation service.
This position will involve a commitment of up to 29.6 hours per week, offering the flexibility of working from home with travel as required for Course Accreditation visits and other meetings. The position is permanent following successful completion of a three month probationary period.
The newly appointed member of the team will report to the Chief Accreditation Officer and Registrar and will manage the Course Accreditation Liaison Officer, Support Officer, and Administrator. The post-holder will be responsible for coordinating volunteer panel evaluations of applications for course accreditation and presenting findings to the Course Accreditation Committee. Previous experience of leading CBT training courses, course accreditation, coordinating volunteers and managing committees and staff is desirable.
Successful applicants will have BABCP practitioner accreditation for at least three years at the time of application; with supervisor and/or trainer accreditation desirable. Working experience of applying a quality control framework is essential. Candidates will provide evidence that they have experience of promoting high professional standards, equality diversity and inclusion. Experience of coordinating quality assessments undertaken by teams is desirable. Excellent all-round communication skills are vital to this position as you will be in contact with a variety of stakeholders with an interest in the accreditation process.
We support and promote Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.
