The University of Nottingham has been providing an outstanding student experience for over 140 years and is a leading university of worldwide significance with established campuses in UK, China and Malaysia.
We require an experienced Site Maintenance Team Leader to control the onsite activities of a multi skilled team of Engineering and Building Services operatives across our U.K sites undertaking planned and reactive maintenance. The successful candidate will be required to take a hands on approach, allocating resources to ensure work is completed promptly and accurately while adhering to all relevant Health and Safety legislation.
You will carry out workplace inspections completing the required documentation and will liaise with external contractors and consultants providing relevant information to ensure their safety while onsite. You will also be the first point of contact for urgent maintenance requests from the Estates Office helpdesk and other key contacts within University Schools and departments.
Candidates should be qualified to a minimum of NVQ 3 or equivalent in a Building or Building Services Engineering discipline and have continued post qualification training. You should have excellent knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services and have proven experience of leading, motivating and supervising trade staff undertaking maintenance activities. It is also essential that candidates understand the requirement for Risk Assessments and method statements and are able to minimise safety risks in the workplace.
Due to the frequency with which the person will be required to drive between university sites a full, current driving licence is also essential unless disability precludes this.
This position is offered on a permanent basis. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours per week), worked 5 days out of 7 to be arranged.
