This is a unique opportunity to join the public health team in the School of Health Sciences at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, providing a high quality and transformative educational experience to students. You will have a key role in the team developing and delivering the first undergraduate degree in Public Health in Scotland. With a focus on a competency informed curriculum and accredited by the International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE), this degree will open opportunities for graduates in health promotion and in health policy, in government, in community health organisations, and in health-focused charities.

We are building a portfolio of partnerships to support student work-based placements in all years of the programme and currently have offers from partners such as Active Schools, Local Leisure services and NHS providers, including Public Health Scotland. An understanding of working as a public health practitioner or the ability to demonstrate knowledge of contemporary public health practice is essential. We are also looking for expertise in one or more of these areas: Data analysis, Big Data, Epidemiology, Public health management, Service improvement.  You will also have the opportunity to contribute to our online Masters programmes and work with our Institute for Global Health and Development (IGHD) team.

The school, with its breadth of professional programmes, delivers Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health as well as Therapeutic and Diagnostic Radiography, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Occupational Therapy, Art Therapies, Speech and Hearing Science, Nursing and Paramedic Science. As such it is in a unique position to offer you opportunities for multi-professional and interdisciplinary learning and teaching and research.
