Aston Law School’s mission is to be distinctive in its combination of academic rigour with practical insight, for ‘future ready’ LLB and LLM graduates. We do so as The Guardian’s University of the Year 2020, with Gold TEF status, and as one of the leading universities for Entrepreneurship and Social Mobility.  

Our research addresses contemporary issues across a spectrum of topics, the most relevant of which for this role are: Global Commerce and Finance; Risk, Regulation and Governance; and the Rights of the Individual.  The successful candidate will be supported in their research and encouraged to make a distinctive contribution to our collegiate and vibrant research community.  Our degree programmes teach a combination of ‘traditional’ law subjects alongside creative and innovative subjects that provide the academic grounding for skills and attributes of modern lawyers.  We do so in three broad pathways: the Law of Business, the Business of Law and the Future of Law; and by drawing on our links with businesses and the legal profession.  

We have plans for our strategic growth that involve recruitment to join our colleagues who are committed to making a difference in research and teaching Technology Law and Policy (to include the Regulation of AI and Emerging Technologies, Digital Rights, Data Protection and Cyber Crime).
