The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is a world-renowned, international research university in Hong Kong.  The Center for Language Education invites applications for teaching-track faculty positions at Lecturer ranks.

The appointee is required to teach a range of courses in both Spanish and English and communication skills for undergraduate and postgraduate students.  As a full teaching-track faculty member, the appointee is expected to contribute to the academic life of the Center by engaging in the scholarship of teaching and learning.  Competence in using technology for teaching is expected.  Applications are particularly welcome from teachers with expertise in project management, materials development, blended learning, intercultural communication or the use of Generative AI in language teaching.

Applicants should be native Spanish and English speakers and preferably have an in-depth understanding of both cultures.  They should have a first degree and a master's degree in Teaching Spanish and English as a Foreign Language, applied linguistics or language education, preferably with a recognized language teaching qualification.  Experience in teaching Spanish and/or English as a foreign language to local Hong Kong students at tertiary/senior secondary level is preferred.  The appointee is expected to commence appointment in August 2023. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
