Project Description:

The aim of the project is to exploit the quantum transport properties of graphene nanoribbons for nanoelectronic applications. Visit https://www.nanolab.uk for more details. The candidate will receive broad training in computational materials modelling and gain experience with cutting-edge quantum transport simulation methods, conduct a world-class research project with high publication potential and would be involved in the ATYPQUAL project and collaborate with internationally leading experimental groups in the EU.

Scholarship:

This fully funded scholarship will cover the tuition fees at the UK/Home rate £4,712, plus a stipend of £18,622 per annum for 3.5 years of full-time study and research training support. This PhD studentship is a part of Horizon Europe EIC Pathfinder open grant ATYPQUAL.

Eligibility:

Due to the scholarship rules, this is for UK students only with a first-class or 2.1 honours degree at BSc or MSc in physical science or engineering disciplines and a strong interest in computational materials modelling. Experience with molecular scale simulation is desirable but not essential.
