IT Services is looking for an experienced developer to provide best practice technical expertise in web application development and integration for the University’s new student portal, myUWE.
The myUWE platform aims to deliver a consistent and inclusive student logged-in experience that acts as a single point of entry to access all UWE systems and services. UWE Bristol has adopted modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Next.JS), and architectural approaches, JAMStack and micro services. The Engineer (Web) role will work alongside other Engineers, Analysts and Testers in Agile delivery teams to deliver new services and integrations for the myUWE platform.

IT Services works in a hybrid way offering the flexibility to work both on campus and at home depending on project or team needs.
About you:
You will have a strong web application development background with experience of integrating and supporting enterprise web-based systems. You are a motivated, effective team worker who can work independently and keen to continuously learn new technologies.
You will have experience in a range of web development technologies including modern JavaScript frameworks such as React.js and Next.JS. In addition, you will have a track record of adopting best practice coding standards, including application security and accessibility.
You will also have experience of working in agile delivery teams.

This is a full-time, permanent post, working 37 hours per week.
