Summary of the role
The role of Associate Lecturer (Education and Scholarship) will include supporting the student learning experience using a range of approaches and modes of delivery appropriate to the teaching allocated.

You will work across multiple disciplines with specific focus on supporting Industrial Skills and Placements, specifically within Engineering and/or Computer Science. You will have responsibility for supporting the design, development and production of teaching and learning material and deliver either across a range of modules or within a subject area. You will work with key academics to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of teaching programmes in accordance with the Faculty’s education strategy and implementing the External Affairs strategy. You will also contribute directly to foundation teaching in one or more of the disciplinary areas in the Faculty and to the development and implementation of innovative teaching practices across the Faculty. You will act as a first point of contact for students and staff organisations to help support and underpin the development and growth of Industrial Skills and Placements knowledge within the student and staff body. Working with external partners, developing, managing and extending relationships will be key to success within this role.

About you
For a Lecturer post you will:

• Possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a PhD (or nearing completion) or equivalent qualification/experience, of the core knowledge relating to Computer Science and/or Engineering and be a confident and capable mentor, comfortable and professional when in contact with students and their employers.

• Staff at this level are expected to achieve Associate Fellow of the HEA within two years of appointment (if not already achieved) and to attend formal CPD relating to this.
