You will be part of a multidisciplinary team composed of researchers from University of Birmingham, Queen’s University Belfast, and University of Warwick, taking a multidimensional approach to uncover the role of membrane renovation in the intracellular survival of Burkholderia cepacia complex (BCC) pathogens in human immune cells. This post is funded by BBSRC and is based at University of Birmingham under the supervision of Professor Yin Chen, but will work closely with Prof Miguel Valvano at Queen’s University Belfast and Prof David Scanlan and Ioannis Nezis at University of Warwick.
The research will be based in the microbiology theme within the School of Biosciences at the University of Birmingham. The School of Biosciences has > 45 research groups working on various aspects of microbial sciences and human diseases. The candidate will have the opportunity to assist with supervision of postgraduate students and undergraduate students.
