Applications are invited for two Postdoctoral Scientist/ Career Development Fellow positions in the Light Microscopy Facility at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB), Cambridge.
The primary function of these positions is to develop and support the use of state-of-the-art light microscopy techniques within the LMB. The role involves training facility users on a wide variety of light microscopy systems and scientific collaboration with those users in aspects of experiment design and technique development leading to improved research outcomes.
The facility offers a broad range of instruments including confocal microscopes, super resolution imaging systems, single molecule fluorescence microscopes, high resolution light sheet microscopy and high content automated imagers.
The positions offer the postholders the opportunity to learn and develop light microscopy expertise to a very high level in a vibrant and diverse scientific environment. The light microscopy work is supported by an integrated team of image analysts and the postholders will further learn and benefit from their interaction with these specialists.
Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant subject or be due to complete PhD within 6 months of applying. Evidence of an advanced light microscopy component in such a relevant PhD or experience in the use of light microscopy in a research setting is desirable.
