The role
At Ravensbourne, the provision of computing courses is growing rapidly. It offers an expanding range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes which are increasingly popular.
We are looking to appoint a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor for our postgraduate provision. The role involves delivery and management of subjects related to Computer Science with a focus on Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence. You will develop and use a variety of methods for teaching and assessment and provide support and feedback that is timely, relevant and appropriate. The selected candidate will be required to participate in high-quality research in the subject area and contribute to publishing the findings in conferences and journals.
The candidate
We are seeking a well-qualified and experienced individual to join our esteemed institution as a Senior Lecturer, Associate professor (where the requirements are met) in Computer Science. The successful candidate will possess specialized knowledge and expertise in the fields of Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the education and development of future computer scientists while actively engaging in research and innovation within these cutting-edge fields.
You will have special interest in the areas of Augment Reality and Virtual Reality, Programming experience in C#, Python and Java for such applications is desirable.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to acquire new ideas and skills, possess excellent people skills and experience of working in a diverse Higher Education environment. You will bring technical and pedagogical expertise in relation to learning solutions which support the delivery of the curriculum across our courses. You will have very good inter-personal skills, highly developed communication and organisational skills and a capability to motivate students.
You will be capable of delivering lectures, seminars, and workshops for various subject areas such as programming, networking, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, machine learning, databases and mobile and web development etc. You will be familiar with single board computers such as Raspberry Pi and Arduinos. You will also be familiar with volumetric data capture and visualisation technologies.
