The Directorate of Governance & Secretariat is seeking to recruit an experienced Head of Privacy to assume strategic responsibility for the effectiveness and delivery of Brunel’s data protection and compliance functions and service. The post holder will be accountable for how the organisation complies with all relevant privacy-related legislation, in particular Data Protection, Freedom of Information and e-privacy legislation.
The post holder will provide strategic leadership as the institution seeks to embed a culture of accountability and respect for privacy across its operations and processes.
The Head of Privacy will provide leadership and guidance to the privacy team and fulfil Data Protection Officer duties.
The successful candidate will be supported by Data Protection Advisors to deliver and monitor the effectiveness of the formalised strategic plan that ensures full compliance with the law while improving transparency and trust of our stakeholders around how we manage data.
The successful applicant will have experience in a senior Data Protection role and be able to communicate complex information effectively to internal stakeholders, data subjects and Supervisory Authorities.
