Description

The University is looking for a Data and Integration Architect to join the team and work to support the modernisation of the University’s data integration technologies and platform.

The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of modern data integration architectures and technologies, workflows and processes to deliver innovative solutions to data integration challenges.

The post will be line managed by the Chief Architect in the architecture team  and will work closely with the Enterprise Systems and DBA teams, system and data owners.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Degree or professional qualification in IT subject or relevant experience.  ITIL foundation qualified, or able to demonstrate relevant operational experience using appropriate best practice framework.
  • Desirable: Project Management qualification – for example, Prince 2, DSDM, MSP, PMP.  TOGAF qualified (framework for enterprise architecture).

Experience, skills, and knowledge

  • Understanding of modern enterprise architecture, substantial hands-on experience with enterprise application integration middleware and platforms.
  • Expert level of technical knowledge and understanding of application architecture, systems design and integration with large scale deployments.
  • Strong knowledge of SOA, ESB, messaging, transaction. XML, JSON and API based Web Services integration technologies.
  • Strong SQL skills ability to understand data models, data quality, data profiling and data discovery.
  • Experience with deployment and administration of some of the following technologies: Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions and Azure API management.

Salary: Grade 9; £46,974to £54,395 (up to £61,198 with discretionary points)
