Do you want to contribute to the digital transition with Software and/or Systems Development through education and collaboration with industry and academia? 

DTU Engineering Technology invites applicants with and industrial background for a position as assistant/associate professor in software engineering and -development.

You will join the research group “AI, Mathematics and Software”, which consists of several colleagues with a mix of research and industry experience in software development, IT infrastructure, healthcare technology, and medical devices. The group is diverse in culture, nationalities, personality types and career paths from industry and academia. Responsibilities and qualifications 

Your contribution will be within software development with an emphasis on teaching in one or several of the following areas:

  • Front-end development and user experience design
  • Mobile application development
  • Development methods such as Agile development and DevOps
  • Back-end development
  • Software architecture
  • Embedded systems
  • Project management of software projects

In this position, you will have the opportunity to develop your professional skills within the above areas, as well as other relevant areas. The position’s primary responsibility will be to teach and supervise student projects, but you will also be contributing to the group’s research projects and the research agenda with your industrial perspectives.

Our research is focused on implementation of digital technologies with key application within healthcare, optimal use of energy and resources, maintenance planning, and optimization, with respect to securing digital systems and communications.

You must be responsible for the teaching of courses. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both.

As formal qualifications you must hold an MSc or a PhD degree (or equivalent) in engineering, science or equivalent and three years of industrial experience. If you are applying for the associate professor position you should also have academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding an assistant professorship and documented didactic/pedagogic training.
