In recent years the University Student Support Services (SSS) has seen rapid development and enhancement. As a result, there has been a noticeable increase in institutional responsibilities and raised student expectations in the support we offer to them. To support this work, the University of Aberdeen SSS department is seeking to recruit an experienced Administrator to support the operation of the department and the Student Support Management Team (SSMT).
This post will ultimately support the evolving needs of our students with a range of individual requirements, and that our services evolve to meet the expanding needs and expectations of the student population. This role will involve working closely within SSS and building relationships with a range of external stakeholders, senior staff, students, and colleagues across the wider University. The postholder will provide a high level of administrative support to members of SSMT; coordination of processes and Standard Operating Procedures; management of cases under our conduct and support processes; and providing personal assistant (PA) support to the Head of Service and ad hoc administrative support to members of SSMT.
The Administrator will have a pivotal role in the delivery of high-level administrative support to SSMT and will help in ensuring the effective operation of the SSS departments and its various administrative processes. At points this may include line management of wider members of the team and input into the review of processes across SSS.
The Administrator will provide PA support to the Head of Student Support Services and, as required, ad hoc administrative support to SSMT members, which will include diary management; booking travel arrangements; minute taking at various meetings; and other appropriate work related administrative support.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 5 salary scale, (£31,396 - £34,980 per annum) and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
