Applications are invited for a 24 month Research Associate position on a project exploring sectoral productivity. This project, funded by the Gatsby Foundation, is concerned with the UK's 'productivity puzzle' and sits within one of the Bennett Institute's main research themes. It will align with the research programme of The Productivity Institute, for which the Bennett Institute is the Cambridge hub. The project will focus on the measurement of sectoral productivity performance across countries and on drivers of productivity in key sectors of the UK economy.

These posts will be located in the Bennett Institute for Public Policy, a major, University-wide interdisciplinary institute housed in the Department of Politics and International Studies and supported by the School of the Humanities and Social Sciences. It is led by its inaugural Director Professor Michael Kenny and Professor Diane Coyle, the Bennett Professor of Public Policy.
The Research Associate will work on the measurement and analysis of sectoral productivity and related research questions, delivering both academic outputs and policy-relevant outputs and engagement, overseen by Professor Diane Coyle and working alongside other Bennett Institute staff. They will also liaise with other members of The Productivity Institute, for which the Bennett Institute is the Cambridge hub.
Candidates for the post of Research Associate should normally have a PhD (submitted or nearly submitted at the time of application) in a relevant field and with experience of the methods required for this project. They should provide evidence of potential for research and publication at the highest level, and a good understanding of the policy process.
