Our team at Oxford Brookes Business School is looking for Associate Lecturers in Analytics & Information Systems. Is that you?

If you are an inspirational and talented colleague who wants to be part of a vibrant community of educators and researchers, then you found us!

We are increasing our pool of Associate Lecturers for the new academic year, starting in September 2023.  Candidates should have current knowledge and experience in the subject areas of Analytics & Information Systems.

The main duties of the successful candidates will be:
  • Undertaking preparation prior to teaching
  • Teaching undergraduate students using appropriate instruction methods
  • Marking and assessing students’ work
  • Module content development as part of module leadership (as and when required).
Most teaching takes place in the University’s semesters which run from late September to December, and late January to May.  Assessment happens within and immediately following the semesters.  Working on one module generally involves attending for 2-3 hours in the same time slot (e.g. Wednesday morning) each week for 12 weeks.  The number of modules undertaken in a year varies – some Associate Lecturers work on just one per year; others work on six or more.

To be an Associate Lecturer, you will have a degree or equivalent qualification in the subject area, or a relevant professional qualification equivalent to a degree, together with some teaching or training experience.  Further training in teaching methods can be provided.  Please note that being successful at an interview does not guarantee any work.

  • Total Basic hourly rate which is largely intended to cover non-teaching duties and additional marking duties. (£22.31)
