RGU is seeking to appoint a new Director of Finance, a key role in ensuring that the University is in a strong position to deliver on its ambitions. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic management of all finance related functions in an integrated approach to corporate management of the University. Tasked with delivering the long-term financial sustainability of the University, you will be responsible for the delivery and implementation of future-focused strategies ensuring sound financial management investment and good governance. You will work closely with academic colleagues to foster a culture of financial responsibility and commercial thinking to help the University thrive in an increasingly competitive sector and global economy.
The role holder will be a clear strategic thinker, a graduate and qualified accountant with senior experience in financial management and control in a large, complex organisation. You will have the opportunity to apply your expertise in providing high-quality, customer-focused services, providing cross departmental leadership to a team of c. 23 finance professionals.
With an annual income of £120 million, in surplus and with significant financial reserves, the University is in a strong position and you will be joining at a time of real momentum and positive change. This is a key appointment for us, and it will be for you – so we will invest time with candidates to get to know you and give you a chance to know us in the application process.
