The new Department of Media, Culture and Creative Industries draws together academic staff specialising in Advertising, Creative Writing, Culture and Creative Industries, English literature, Management in Media and Creative Industries, Media and Communications, Media Production, Public Relations, Publishing and Strategic Communications. The successful candidate will have a PhD, ideally in Communications, Media, Business, Marketing or a related field. Candidates should possess a general knowledge of contemporary critical, theoretical and professional issues in Media and Communications and be able to teach and design modules across the subject in a way that is industry-focussed and socially relevant. In particular, they should have research-based knowledge and the ability to teach in the following areas:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed teacher able to engage and enthuse a diverse student body that includes international students as well as students from widening participation backgrounds. We are also looking for a new colleague who is willing to collaborate to strengthen the undergraduate and postgraduate Media and Communication courses and contribute to other programmes in the department.
