The Institute of Computing for Climate Science (ICCS) studies and supports the role of software engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence, and data science within climate science.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Institute as a Programme Administrator. The ICCS is located within the Department of Applied Maths and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP).

The successful candidate will be pivotal in coordinating and overseeing the administration and operation of the Institute, to ensure the smooth running of research activities and stakeholder engagement.

The Programme Administrator is responsible for coordinating the efficient running of the Institute on behalf of the Programme Manager. Responsibilities include: coordinating and overseeing the administration of the project, developing, monitoring and updating the website, coordinating and organising project-related activities and events, assisting with the production of reports, supporting committee work, carrying out financial administration, publicising ICCS events and relevant HR administration.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced administrator, with excellent interpersonal skills, who is able to work both independently and as part of a team.

You will be experienced at building positive working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external colleagues.  You will be well organised, with a flexible approach to work and an ability to prioritise tasks efficiently. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities and excellent computer skills are essential.  You will have some experience in supporting event coordination. A scientific background is not required for this role, but an interest in supporting research in this area would be beneficial.

The role is full-time, working 36.5 hours per week. Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30 June 2027 in the first instance.
