Applications are invited for an AHRC CDA doctoral studentship offered by the Open-Oxford-Cambridge AHRC Doctoral Training Partnership, to start in October 2024.
The studentship will be based in the Spanish Section, Faculty of Modern and Medieval Language and Linguistics. The successful applicant will work on a collaborative project co-led by Dr Isaias Fanlo (ifg22@cam.ac.uk), University of Cambridge and Ms Victoria Oliva Buxton, co-supervisor, and Coordinator of Programmes at the Institut Ramon Llull.
The PhD student will carry out original research that addresses the presence of minoritarian/non-normative identities within Catalan cultures. The project will need to address the complexities of subaltern expressions of gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, ability, migration, and/or class situated in the framework of Catalan cultures, perhaps exploring the nuanced intertwining of identities and nationhood. Applicants will be asked to propose their own PhD research project, based on their qualifications and interests that fits within the general parameters specified.
Further details of the project and its aims can be found on the Open-Oxford-Cambridge AHRC DTP website:

Funding:
The DTP studentships will provide an annual maintenance grant to cover living costs (£18,622 stipend + £550 CDA allowance per annum at current rates) and university tuition fees at home fee level. The fee gap between the home and overseas fee rates will be covered by the University through internal co-funding for international candidates.
