The Executive Director of Student and Academic Services will provide strategic leadership and operational management of our Student and Academic Services. You will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer & University Secretary, the Vice Principal for Learning & Teaching and the Clerk of Senate on the development of the student experience and specific aspects of student life in Glasgow. You will also contribute to the leadership of University Services through the Professional Services Group and other forums. With exposure to national and international best practice and policy developments, you will ensure the provision of excellent and efficient services to students and academic members of staff.
Broad knowledge of higher education environment, policy issues, the relevant statutory framework and operational issues within the range of activities in Student and Academic Services is required, as well as familiarity with student record systems. An understanding of academic policy and strategy implementation will be essential. You will possess significant experience of managing and controlling substantial budgets and resources.
This is a high-profile role of significant strategic importance which requires an individual with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence, negotiate and challenge mindsets whilst building excellent working relationships at all levels of the University. You will possess a demonstrable track record of achievement in leading and managing change in large, complex organisations.
This is a full time (35 hours per week), open ended role (permanent).
