The National Centre of Motorsport Engineering is looking to recruit a Technician / Demonstrator / Machine Shop – Engineering to join an enthusiastic and proactive team within the School. The successful candidate should be qualified as a CNC Machinist with experience and ability to set toolpaths for milling and turning using Siemens and Fanuc controllers. Demonstrable experience with CAM software packages such as Fusion 360 is required.
Working closely with technical support in National Centre for Motorsport Engineering, the role holder will be responsible for providing support for student learning, teaching and research across the portfolio of academic disciplines including support for students’ projects and self-directed study.
The role holder will be expected to work both independently, and as an effective member of a team which meets the needs of academic staff and students, and enables optimum use of University resources. The role includes support and demonstration of a range of equipment and vehicles, associated processes and first line maintenance.
You should possess good interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to issue equipment, tools and materials, stock controls and maintain accurate records.
