The Faculty of Engineering and Science offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes that are widely recognised for their academic quality, innovation, and close ties to the industries in which our graduates work. We aim to equip our graduates with the skills necessary to succeed in the workplace upon graduation and throughout their professional careers. Given our recent success in the 2021 REF exercise, we wish to maintain our research driven and informed teaching provision and are looking for an experienced lecturer to join us and contribute to the growth of our portfolio of programmes.

We are appointing to a Senior lecturer role, and looking for a candidate to lead our provision in Chemical Engineering and deliver underpinning knowledge and experience in the subject area across the school. The successful candidate will take an important role in the development and teaching of two or more of the following subjects : 

  • Biochemical engineering
  • Chemical engineering product design and process engineering design
  • Chemical processing methods and optimisation
  • Mixing and multi-phase flows
  • Food engineering

Successful candidates will take an important role in programme development and delivery of teaching in the above subjects. All applicants must have a strong research profile, the potential to develop internationally recognised research programs, excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Indeed, we wish to invite applications from a broad range of candidates with different skill sets. Preference will be given to applicants who possess a PhD and  combine excellence in teaching with capacity to conduct novel, interdisciplinary engineering research that will expand and complement the school’s research strengths
