A Global University with London Energy.
The University of Westminster has a long and distinctive history. Founded over 180 years ago as London’s first polytechnic institution, it has become known for the many ways in which it helps students to realise their full potential, regardless of background.
Westminster’s founding values are to be inclusive, progressive and compassionate, with a spirit that reflects the University’s global reach and location at the heart of a world city which is home to diverse communities. Our teaching is practical, relevant, and contemporary. Providing grounded, holistic education with wide horizons and opportunities, we develop graduates who will help fuel growth and prosperity, and who become responsible citizens of the world.
Our Research and Knowledge Exchange activities are fundamental to our commitment to making a difference and transforming lives, finding solutions to make a difference for our communities and the world. Following on from our success in REF 2021, we are now seeking an inaugural Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Knowledge Exchange).
You will join us in a new role that will oversee and drive forward the development of our Research and Knowledge Exchange activity and its impact in our areas of excellence, ensuring increasing engagement with communities, partners, and stakeholders to secure funding from a greater variety of sources in an environment where everyone is inspired to succeed. Doing so will enable us to maximise our positive impact for societies in the UK and around the world in our priority areas of Diversity and Inclusion; Health Innovation and Wellbeing; Sustainable Cities and the Urban Environment; Arts, Communication and Culture.
You must therefore be a senior leader in the Higher Education sector, with an inspirational, collaborative approach. PhD-qualified and a member of the Professoriate, you’ll have an established reputation in your field and a strong record of research or professional practice. With an outstanding track record to your name, plus a gift for clear communication, you’ll be equipped to champion our vision and make a positive impact on our students’ wellbeing and success.
