We are seeking an outstanding individual to join our University Team as the Director of Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI).
This senior level role will be a member of the Vice Chancellors Office team, with responsibility for delivering our Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion priorities at the University of Greenwich. The role holder will be an experienced leader who can build and accelerate our programmes so they can deliver our ambitious sector leading EDI aspirations to dismantle systemic inequality and create lasting equity for the University.
We are looking for an individual that can demonstrate effectiveness in leading passionate people working across the university to harness their capacities and to create a new strategic unit that can deliver a service which aligns all inclusion-related activities. The unit will be responsible for delivering through people and partnerships so every individual can support meaningful transformation for equity.
The role holder will possess strong analytical skills, have an ability to translate metrics, research and trends into strategy and plans. The post holder will also have the ability to influence and shape internal and external environments with colleagues in the unit to support executive boards through credible solutions and creating trust through subject expertise, building positive relationships, capability and accountability.
As a key part of the senior leadership team, the Director will have strategic and operational accountability and will provide leadership in respect to EDI compliance, performance management and programme delivery. The individual will act as a source of professional advice, developing and acting on specialist knowledge for current and future trends. They will have responsibility for corporate organisational policy for EDI and will ensure these deliver our strategy aims for students and staff.
