About the Role
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate with expertise in structural biology to join the research group of Ben Stieglitz at Queen Mary University of London. The post holder will be funded by the MRC on a project entitled “Regulation of Linear Ubiquitin Signalling in Innate Immunity”, based at the Centre for Structural Biology within the School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences at QMUL.
This research position will focus on molecular mechanisms of ubiquitin conjugation in the context of immunity and inflammation. The project will take advantage of the expertise in the Stieglitz lab which centres on the structural and functional characterisation of ubiquitin ligases and its regulators. See https://stieglitz-lab.com for more information about the research background. We are supported by dedicated cryo-EM and X-ray crystallography facilities with routine access to Titan Krios microscopes (via LonCEM and eBIC) and an in-house computing infrastructure for data processing. Furthermore, our lab is well equipped for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of protein systems with biophysical instruments such as PEAQ-ITC, fluorescence spectroscopy and stopped-flow.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious individual with a keen interest to drive this research project, while working with other members of the Stieglitz group and colleagues in the Centre of Structural Biology. Candidates should have experience in the areas of protein biochemistry, crystallography, cryo-EM, structural data processing and analysis, and/or biophysical characterization.
