This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at the National Horizons Centre (NHC). At the NHC, we pride ourselves on discovering diseases earlier, developing novel treatments and delivering life-saving medicines quicker, safer and more affordably working in partnership with industry and the NHS. As Scientific Experimental Officer in Digital Health and Bioinformatics you will develop and deliver research, training, commercial and other enterprise opportunities across areas aligned to the NHC in partnership with industry and the NHS (e.g. cancer diagnostics, translational healthcare, bioprocessing, biopharmaceuticals, biotechnology and bio innovation).
Working closely with the Head of Partnerships and Business Development you will (i) deliver research excellence through contract research, collaborative research or pure research bids, (ii) develop industry/NHS standard training, (ii) build sustainable relationships with academics, NHS and industrial partners, and (iv) drive new opportunities to achieve the NHC goals. You will also play a vital role as part of the newly funded Northern Health Futures (NortHFutures), a £4.17M EPSRC Digital Health Hub project led by Newcastle University. Working with the Director of the NHC you will support the networking, innovation and entrepreneurship strand of the project to develop new opportunities in digital health.
This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, go-getter with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude to join a dynamic and supportive team working together to make real-world impact.
