- THE ROLE -
This post is funded by Invest NI / British Telecom (BT) under the BT Ireland Innovation Centre (BTIIC). The overall BTIIC project addresses research topics in future telecommunication networks and services with a particular emphasis on Intelligent Systems, Future Big Data Analytics, Internet of Things (IoT), Cyber Security and Fixed and Mobile Network Services.
The post holder will work closely with BT Engineering to facilitate downstreaming of BTIIC research into BT Engineering systems, services and products. They will work in collaboration with other Ulster, BT Research and BT Engineering members of the wider research team.
The work for this particular post will focus on the areas of cloud and edge computing platform for IoT applications.
Candidates must be legally entitled to work in the UK at the point of application for this role.
We may create a 12 month waiting list for the same or similar roles within the University.
- ABOUT YOU -
The post holder must have:
- A Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications, Mathematics, Statistics, Electronics, Data Science or cognate discipline; or equivalent industrial experience
- Evidence of a high level of competence of one or more of the following: Object Oriented programming (e.g. C, C++/Java, Go); Scripting languages (e.g. Python/Javascript); Data Analytics environments (e.g. Matlab, Python, R).
