Salary: 389563 RMB to 548153 RMB per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance
Your Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, the incumbent will play a key role in leading the technical team to enable successful delivery of the high quality, consistent and flexible support to teaching, research and outreach activities across the Faculty. This role will also work closely with other senior managers of Associate Deans, Department and Research Group Heads, contributing to the development of Faculty strategic and operation plans to ensure the delivery of future technical resources and expertise.
The incumbent will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
Leadership, planning and service delivery:
To provide leadership, shape and deliver a high-quality technical support service to meet the teaching and research objectives of the Faculty. This will include development of service level KPIs to focus on key areas for service delivery and maintain excellent provision of technical services.
Financial and resource management:
To support the Dean to review financial plans to determine how financial targets related to technical services will be met and explore opportunities for investment and financial and operational efficiencies. To establish and maintain an oversight of annual and also long-term plans linked to the operations of teaching and research facilities, ensuring that future and replacement equipment costs are taken into consideration as appropriate.
Health and Safety:
To lead the development of a health and safety-first culture, managing all HS matters in relation to the effective and efficient operation of the services, working in collaboration with Faculty Health and Safety Officer and business partner.
Buildings and space planning:
To lead on and manage the effective use of the space across all units in the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
Other:
To support Faculty marketing and outreach events. To undertake other tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be required.
About You
You should have Bachelor degree in engineering/science or equivalent;You should have a proven track record to demonstrate your work accurately in order to provide qualified technical support;You should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (including oral and written skills in English) with the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels;You should have extensive knowledge of Health Safety Regulations and policies, both in construction and laboratory management;You should have proven ability to motivate and manage a team of staff including the management of change;You should have proven record of working successfully with senior management teams within international setting and/or research institute organization.
