About the Role
As Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Sports Business Management and Data Analytics you will be required to make a significant contribution to the delivery of our research-led teaching and learning in sports business management. You will also support the development of our ambitious plans to expand our sports data analytics provision at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Depending on your experience and interest, you will also be required to contribute to teaching on our postgraduate courses, especially our MSc Sport, Physical Activity and Mental Health programme, and supervise research students at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Through your teaching and supervision of students, you will be expected to help support students to gain graduate-level employment and/or pursue further study, depending on their aspirations and interests.
You will be expected to further strengthen the quality, impact, and profile of our research activities, explore opportunities to secure external research income, and meet the requirements for submission to the next Research Excellence Framework exercise.

You will be an enthusiastic and collegiate professional with applied experience of sports business management and data analytics industries. Experience of working alongside other multi-disciplinary sports- and business-related professionals to make data-driven decisions which solve real-world problems, enhance performance, or gain competitive business advantage would be welcome. Experience of working with big data and Artificial Intelligence, data visualisation software, and programming languages (such as Python and R), would also be advantageous.
You will have successful experience teaching undergraduate programmes and excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to provide students with quality research-led teaching and learning.
You will be an ambitious and committed professional with an established or promising research profile, the ability to engage in knowledge exchange activity, and seek opportunities for external research income generation aligned to the strategic priorities of the Department.
