The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching and curriculum development for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and to supervise undergraduate and masters dissertations. The person appointed will be expected to conduct original research in appropriate fields and play a lead role in collaborative research projects, leading to high quality publications and grant income. The successful candidate will also be expected to assist with the administration of the School of Aerospace and the Faculty of Science and Engineering in general and thus contribute to the Schools growth in the field of Aerospace Engineering.
This post is related to the teaching of undergraduate/postgraduate courses in the field of Aerospace Engineering Design. The teaching content will cover aspects related to 1) Aerospace Engineering Design and 2) Flight Control. The successful candidate will be expected to have extensive research experience and expertise in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with a focus on Aerospace Engineering Design. The successful candidate will be expected to join the Advanced Intelligent Manufacturing Research Group (AIMRG) which is a leading, research group in the areas ofsmart manufacturing processes for high-value industries (e.g. aerospace, automotive, energy materials, various reactors for reactive manufacturing processes, medical devices, optical systems, high precision moulding), controllable production processes for energy materials, intelligent supervision and control of manufacturing processes to enable high-throughput of high-value products with minimum defects and energy wastage, automated and flexible manufacturing production systems.
Candidates must have a PhD degree in a relevant engineering discipline, preferable in mechanical and aerospace engineering, design and manufacture, and excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Knowledge and experience of aerospace engineering design and aircraft manufacturing are necessary. Experience of supervising PhD and Master students and experience of teaching, tutorial or laboratory work at undergraduate and postgraduate level in an international English speaking institution are preferable.
Salary will be within the range of RMB 439,794 RMB 579,126 per annum depending on skills and experience (salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance). In addition, an attractive package including accommodation allowance, travel allowance and insurance will be provided for international appointments.
The post will initially be offered on a fixed term contract with the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China for a period of five years starting from February 2024 or the date as earlier as possible. This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement.
