This is your opportunity to be part of one of the UK’s most diverse and exciting young universities. We’re looking for an experienced Graphic Designer to join our dynamic Digital and Creative Experience team, working across a range of channels to deliver sector-leading creative that cuts through the noise in a highly competitive sector.
Main duties and responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for creating high quality, engaging design in line with the University’s modern and energising visual identity. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary creative team, and with a strong creative mind and an eye for impactful design, you’ll develop concepts through to production-ready artwork for a wide variety of audiences and outputs. Supported by the wider team and a roster of external creatives, you’ll continue to evolve the University’s master and campaign identities to inspire a new generation of students, researchers and businesses.
You’ll maintain and enforce consistency and quality in the University’s visual identity as it applies to printed literature, digital advertising, website and digital channels, social media, merchandise, signage and wayfinding, display graphics and other forms of visual communication, working independently to identify innovations and make recommendations to improve the perception and reputation of the University as a disruptor in the higher education space.
Skills and experience required
Successful candidates will have specialist knowledge of industry-standard software including Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and After Effects.
With experience designing for both print and digital outputs, you’ll have an established portfolio of high-quality work that demonstrates innovative thinking, an understanding of current trends and the ability to inspire a range of different audiences through engaging and accessible design. You’ll have the ability to produce high-impact, targeted designs aligned to business needs, and will be able to measure, refine and report on success of design projects.
A minimum of a degree in Graphic Design / Visual Communication (or a related field of study), a qualification to an equivalent standard or have proven professional work experience.
Please attach a personal statement showing clearly how your skills and experience match the Person Specification, as well as a PDF portfolio of your most impressive design work.
