The role
The University of Bristol seeks two external members for its Audit and Risk Committee, offering a unique chance to contribute expertise to a globally esteemed institution. Ideal candidates possess senior professional experience in audit, risk, strategic decision-making, and financial reporting within large, complex organisations. Alignment with the University's Strategy and Values and an interest in higher education are essential. The positions commence on March 2024 and January 2025, each for a potential three-year term, with eligibility for reappointment for up to two consecutive terms.

What will you be doing?
Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) members at the University of Bristol oversee financial reporting, internal controls, and risk management, playing a crucial role in maintaining financial integrity, safeguarding stakeholders' interests, and ensuring effective risk management. Their efforts foster transparency, accountability, and good governance. Members act in the University's best interests and not as representatives of any specific part or group. Key responsibilities include holding the Executive accountable for University leadership, offering constructive challenge and support, ensuring robust control and risk management systems, and assuring sustainability and financial viability.
