Brief Description of Program:
The Sociology and Anthropology Program aims to provide graduate level students with theoretical, research, and methodological training in the fields of sociology and anthropology covering multiple critical schools of thought and their developments in these fields. The Program focuses on the relationships between local Arab and global contexts, providing students with the opportunity to engage with each level separately and comparatively. This training allows students to produce knowledge about contemporary Arab social issues and the world within a global context.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate must have completed a PhD Anthropology or is scheduled to complete it before September 01, 2023. He/ She is expected to significantly contribute to teaching in Anthropology and supervise graduate students and to have a coherent research agenda.
A proven teaching and research experience in the Anthropology of the Arab world is required. Preference will be given to specialists on North Africa or the Arab Gulf.
The DI recognizes the importance of English for research and teaching. However, the ability to teach in the Arabic language is a prerequisite.
The post will begin in September 2024.
