We are looking for a Lecturer in Health Geography to join our Geography and Environmental Management (GEM) team in the School of Science, Engineering & Environment (SEE). Teaching diverse cohorts at undergraduate and postgraduate level, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference by providing excellent learning experiences that prepare students for their future careers. Your research will contribute to our extensive portfolio of applied research with impact beyond academia.
Role Responsibilities
Your role will include responsibility for both teaching and research, with a focus on the geography of health and wellbeing.
Sharing our passion for delivering an excellent learning experience for students, you’ll deliver high-quality, engaging and relevant learning across a range of modules, programmes and courses.
Your past experience should enable you to contribute to the delivery of core modules in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in SEE’s Geography and Environmental Management area, as well as more broadly across the school.
You’ll undertake research, both individually and collaboratively and you’ll be well-positioned for that here at Salford, supported by an inclusive and collaborative research environment.

The Geography and Environmental Management (GEM) team delivers a range of well-respected programmes at undergraduate and taught postgraduate levels. Our programmes carry accreditation from various professional bodies, including the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA), the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and the Royal Geographical Society (RGS). Current undergraduate teaching is centred around Environmental Management and Geography. Postgraduate teaching includes programmes in Environmental Assessment and Management, Sustainability, Health and Global Environments and Safety, Health and Environment.
Based within the new SEE building, the School of Science, Engineering and Environment, delivers world leading research and teaching across a diverse academic portfolio. The school aims to transform the quality of life for society and the well-being of future generations through a better and more sustainable future. Within SEE interdisciplinary opportunities exist to collaborate with colleagues in areas such as Biology and Wildlife, Biomedical Science, Built Environment (including real estate, urban development and our two Energy Houses), Smart Cities, Civil Engineering, Acoustics and Informatics.
