A rare opportunity has arisen for an exceptional academic of professorial standing to join the Liverpool Screen School at Liverpool John Moores University. Working with our successful team of practitioners and theorists. You will lead research strategy and implementation across the school and contribute to teaching in at least one of our subject areas. We welcome applications from academics of professorial standing in the disciplines of (Media Production, Film Studies / Production, Journalism, Creative Industries and Emerging Technologies)
With a recognised international research profile, you will be considered a leader in your field of study, able to evidence your contributions to the professional practice/research of your specialism. You will be a capable leader with the ability to motivate and enthuse others, possessing demonstrable experience of managing a research community, utilising innovative approaches to facilitate research and teaching and learning. Further, you will be capable of developing and writing research proposals and funding bids, demonstrating a proven record in acquiring significant external funding. Experience of leading or contributing to a REF submission or REF panel membership will be a distinct advantage.
The Liverpool Screen School, part of LJMU's Faculty of Arts, Professional and Social Studies, offers undergraduate programmes in Film Studies, Journalism and Media Production, Creative Writing, Drama, together with postgraduate courses in Film Production, Documentary, Immersive Arts, Creative Technology, Journalism, Writing and Screenwriting.

The post is based in Liverpool and the post holder will be expected to be available on site.
