About us
The UCL Division of Psychiatry, located within the Faculty of Brain Sciences, is a world-renowned centre of excellence in mental health research. Our mission is to improve mental health through cutting-edge research and education.
The post holder will work on developing and managing a new four-year secondary school-based adolescent cohort study, the “IMAGINE Study”, funded by the Wellcome Trust. Through this novel cohort we aim to understand environmental risk factors for body dissatisfaction, eating disorders, and other mental health difficulties.
About the role
The post-holder will manage the “IMAGINE Study”, a 4-year cohort funded through a Wellcome Trust Career Development Award. With the support of the Principal Investigator (Dr Solmi) , the study manager will lead on recruiting schools, developing study materials, and overseeing data collection and management. The study manager will also be encouraged to pursue research projects that align with their interests (which could also inform data collected within the cohort), contribute to research activities taking place in the research group, and support future funding applications

About you
The successful candidate will contribute to the cohort design, including the study protocol and maintenance of the study database. Help to develop Standard Operating Procedures specific to the research programme and support the research team’s adherence to these procedures. Provide day-to-day management of the research programme, including the research staff, and support the Principal Investigator in ensuring the delivery of a high-quality research study. Prepare and submit all the documentation required for any necessary ethical approval (e.g. completing an UCL Research Ethics Committee application). Coordinate the research programme and monitor progress against key targets/milestones (e.g. participant recruitment rate and participant retention).
