The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering seeks to appoint 2 outward-looking members of Teaching and Research (T&R) staff in Energy Systems. The post is part of substantial new investment within the Department which includes the recent appointment of Professor Zhibin Yu to the Chair of Energy Engineering, which facilitates the establishment of a multidisciplinary Energy Cluster spanning the entire School of Engineering. You are expected to contribute to our world-class research in energy systems. In particular, we are interested in enhancing our research in energy technologies for clean heating, cooling, and power generation.
These appointments are potential opportunities for either ‘early career’ or more experienced candidates. You will already have an established track record of academic endeavour. This will include papers in internationally leading journals in your field, the potential for, or demonstration of, the ability to attract significant funding from a range of sources. You will be expected to engage with existing – and develop new – networks of academic, industrial, and government collaborators within and beyond the University.
We are looking for enthusiastic academics who are passionate about the student experience both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and will support the growth of our current research-linked teaching portfolio in mechanical and aerospace engineering to complement our current portfolio of programmes.
You will have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant physical or mathematical science discipline (Already achieved for Grade 8 or about to obtain for Grade 7).
The University has the right to close the vacancy early if it is deemed that there have been enough applications received.
