This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone ambitious to join the Chemical and Physical Sciences team in the Faculty of Natural Sciences. We need cover for a Senior Experimental Officer (SEO) position, due to maternity leave.
The Keele Centre for Glycoscience Research and Training, was recently established to tackle a requirement for fundamental research and training in glycoscience, bringing together unique, diverse, and highly complementary expertise from across the glycoscience-focused academic staff at Keele. The SEO role is vital in maintaining high research and training standards within the Glycoscience Centre. It involves providing essential support, excellent research output, and training for researchers and students. The SEO collaborates closely with academic staff, acting as the main point of contact for technical research queries.
Expectations and requirements
We're seeking someone adaptable and flexible to support this new venture. You should have a PhD in synthetic chemistry and a strong track record in multidisciplinary research, such as chemical biology, biological chemistry, biochemistry, or biocatalysis. Excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently, and strong organization skills in managing research within the Centre are essential. This is a fixed-term position for up to 1 year, subject to completing a probationary period.
