Canterbury Christ Church University started using the SITS Student Records System to manage our student applications in 2019 and student records in 2022. The systems put in place have helped us manage our processes and information, driving our data quality and student experience. There are still many aspects of the Product to be delivered which will provide additional benefits to the University. There is also continuous improvement for functionality already delivered.
We are seeking a Lead Developer for our SITS Development Team. The role holder will work within a semi-agile environment, working closely with other SITS Product team leads as well as key stakeholders within the University to ensure that deliverables meet our business requirements and technical standards.
The Lead Developer is an integral part of the SITS Product Team and will be responsible for overseeing all SITS development including integrations. Leading a small team, the role will manage development workloads and priorities alongside ensuring quality deliverables for existing operations as well as for SITS projects. Other key responsibilities include release and change management, alongside support and transition to service activities. Working closely with and reporting to the Digital Development Manager you will be expected to liaise with them on solution and technical design. Ensuring a positive and interactive relationship with Tribal is another key responsibility alongside managing software updates and the annual SITS upgrade.
You will be expected to be both hands-on in terms of development as well as overseeing and mentoring development areas for other team members where required. The role will also formally report on development activities, as well as maintain and bolster a working up to date repository of SITS technical documentation.
This is a great opportunity to lead the SITS Development Team as it consolidates its position post a full SITS implementation. The successful applicant will have the current day to day business to support as well as the newly started programme of SITS refinement work to develop and implement over the next two years.
This is an active and engaging role, working with and across IT, registry, finance and admissions teams. We are looking for someone who has had significant development experience and worked within a lead technical role within a SITS development team, and who can put their own stamp on the development team.
You should be a SITS expert, have leadership experience, strong technical proficiency, analytical skills, attention to detail and be adept at problem solving. You should have good resource and time management, being able to adapt to changing priorities and methodologies, and to communicate and collaborate with the SITS Product team and business users
If you are ready to take on a new challenge and enjoy working with technology and people, we want to hear from you!
How will you work?
