We are looking for a Head of Legal Services to lead our Legal and Freedom of Information (FOI) teams, and instruct specialist external legal advisers as required.
You will provide expert, timely legal advice across a diverse range of activities, covering the academic and commercial operations of the University in order to mitigate the risk of strategic, operational, reputational and financial harm to the University. You will also need to review legislative and regulatory changes which may impact on the University and prepare briefing papers for the senior management team to ensure risks, opportunities and required interventions are understood and addressed.
You will line manage two Legal Advisers and two Freedom of Information Officers. You will also be responsible for approving and instructing specialist external legal advice as necessary. Due to the nature of the work, there may occasionally be a need to provide legal advice outside normal office hours.
